The winter weather in Sydney is dull and grey but that doesn’t mean your taste buds have to experience the same! Circular Quay’s favorite vista bar, Hacienda, has launched it’s new cocktail menu and it’s full of summer cheer to help you beat the winter blues!
Curated by Hacienda’s talent team of mixologists, the new cocktail menu is inspired by far-flung destinations around the globe. Full of flavour and super strong, the new menu infuses high-end spirits and ingredients from across the globe with Hacienda’s signature Cuban-esque flair. What’s more, the new menu also features Hacienda’s first-ever XL share cocktails and two of their insta-famous ‘all-star’ cocktails!
Sydney Social 101 recently popped into Hacienda to soak up the fabulous harbour view, sip on some delicious cocktails and indulge in the new chef’s platter. Here is what we had:
We started with the Jam Jar ($24) which was strong and despite it’s name not too sweet. Served to resemble a jar of jam and with a jam tart on the side (So cute!), Jam Jar is the perfect mix of Bourbon, Chambord, Creme de Mure, Sweet Vermouth, Whiskey Bitters and Strawberry Jam. Next we tried the Ponte Las Pilas ($24) which is the perfect cocktail for gin lovers and goes down a little too easily. Served in a cut glass cocktail glass and garnished with a gold blackberry, this cocktail blends together Beefeater Gin, Creme de Mure, Creme de Violette, Vanilla Syrup, Cranberry Juice and Blackberries.
Our favourite cocktail from the new menu was the Berry Delicious ($23)- the perfect cocktail for berry lovers who enjoy a drink. Served in a beautiful tumbler the Berry Delicious (Which, true to it’s name is very delicious) combines Jim Beam Cherry, Disaronno, Lime Juice, Raspberry Syrup and Strawberry Syrup. A definite must-try if you like your cocktails a little sweet and very berry.
To accompany our cocktails we indulged in the Chef’s Selection Share Platter ($60, serves two). Paired perfectly with the new cocktail menu, the Chef’s Selection Platter includes a host of menu favourites such as oysters, Arancini frijol and Pumpkin flowers, as well as new seafood and meaty skewer additions. For a meat and fish free option, there’s a vegetarian platter too ($40, serves two).
