The iconic Woollahra Hotel has officially relaunched this week after undergoing a significant refurbishment. The reimagination of the space introduces new culinary experiences while honouring its historical roots to welcome back the local community of Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

At the forefront of the ground floor rework is the hotel’s Front Bar, a space dedicated to championing the classic pub experience. The newly renovated space has reinstated the famous locals front bar and is the perfect spot for casual day to night drinking and dining. Due to its central corner block location, it also offers a convenient meeting place following a show in The Entertainment Quarter or after catching a game at The Sydney Cricket Ground or Moore Park. The reimagined Front Bar is an ideal spot to catch up with friends, or to enjoy a drink whilst watching the neighbourhood go by.

Joining the Woollahra Hotel team is chef Jordan Muhamad (Rock Pool, Spice Temple, Chin Chin) who has led the redesign of the food offering Upstairs at the Woollahra Hotel incorporating the outdoor Terrace, Main Bar and Function spaces. Jordan also has the responsibility for the newly renovated ground floor offering. Broadening the culinary offering, patrons can experiment with the contemporary pub menu with an Asian Influence. Bolstering the best from Jordan and his experienced team’s Asian culinary experience, highlight dishes include the Steamed Snapper fillet, his selection of house made curries and the Hiramasa Kingfish sashimi.

Completing the Woollahra Hotel’s offering and having also undergone a full refurbishment is the iconic Bistro Moncur, led by experienced Head Chef Mark Williamson and his established team, one of Sydney’s premiere restaurants with roots in traditional, French bistro fine dining. Diners can enjoy classic favourites including Barossa chicken pâté, grilled sirloin and the saffron crab omelette or experiment with seasonal specials. Paired with an array of boutique and international wines along with signature cocktails, it’s the ideal spot to relax and enjoy a refined dining experience in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

The hotel’s redesign has taken a thoughtful approach to preserving the original Art Deco architecture and more recent European modernism adaptations to celebrate the historical value while adding a contemporary twist. The Woollahra Hotel continues to hero the history and legacy of the venue following the refurbishment, whilst returning the Eastern Suburb’s most iconic hotel to the locals.

With a variety of bookable spaces within the venue across Upstairs at Woollahra Hotel and Bistro Moncur, the Woollahra Hotel offers the perfect location for larger corporate events, birthdays, engagement parties or even your next casual catch up with friends.
