Last night Sydney Social 101 was invited to attend the Media Launch of Runway Weekend, held at Cruise Bar in Circular Quay.
Overlooking the stunning Sydney Harbour, celebrities, media and VIP guests arrived in style all to celebrate the launch of Australia’s biggest fashion and beauty weekend. Guests were treated to a special performance from the incredibly talented Samantha Jade, who was announced as Runway Weekend’s 2015 Ambassador (a perfect choice in our opinion).
All eyes were on Samantha Jade when she arrived, looking incredible wearing Zhivago and Bec & Bridge, and she even managed to fit in a quick outfit change before her performance (all so she could rock some killer dance moves to her new single ‘Shake That’)! We are still in awe of her voice!
The rooftop Cruise Bar venue was transformed into a fashion and beauty haven with images celebrating the iconic covers of The Australian Women’s Weekly, ELLE Australia, Harper’s BAZAAR, NW, Cosmopolitan, OK!, Shop Til You Drop, Woman’s Day, Cleo and Dolly providing the perfect backdrop for the evening.
A line-up of local celebrities walked the red carpet including Samantha Jade, Anna Heinrich, Erin Holland, Michael Brown, Ally Carey, Helen McCabe and Lucy Cousins were all in attendance to toast the launch.
Editor’s Justine Cullen, ELLE Australia, and Bronwyn McCahon, Cosmopolitan, took to the stage to announce this year’s ambassador, Samantha Jade. After which, Samantha was joined by her dancers on stage to perform her new single ‘Shake That’ featuring Pitbull, followed by a rendition of her number 1 hit ‘Firestarter.’
Guests enjoyed the chance to mingle with Samantha Jade following the performance whilst enjoying the tunes of the resident DJ into the night.
Formerly part of the 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty calendar, Runway Weekend will take place on August 29th and 30th and will feature a two-day gathering of the country’s most trusted brands and Australia’s premier fashion, beauty and lifestyle editors.
