Q Magazine named The Flaming Lips “one of the 50 bands to see before you die”. The alt-rock gods are famed for staging elaborate live performances with frequent costume changes, confetti cannons, video projections, balloons, and lighting shows. Founding member and front-man Wayne Coyne will also surf the crowd in a man sized hamster ball.

The group have released 17 albums throughout their career and have been collaborating with several artists on unique covers. Some of the tributes include a track-for track remake of Pink Floyd’s album Dark Side of the Moon in 2009, and the release of 2014 album With a Little Help From My Fwends, a tribute to The Beatles’ album Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band featuring Miley Cyrus singing Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds. Yoko Ono joined the band last year with vocals for a cover of the John Lennon track Happy Xmas (War is Over) and this year The Flaming Lips collaborated with Miley Cyrus’ on her freely available album Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz.
