InterContinental Sydney has launched ‘Pink Me’ Gin High Tea, a journey down the rabbit warren into a wonderland of pink hues, gin-infused ‘Drink Me’ cocktails and three-tiered stands of blush-tickled sweets and savouries.
Offered in the hotel’s heritage Cortile Lounge, ‘Pink Me’ Gin High Tea has been designed to celebrate 2018’s most popular tipple of choice and will be available for a limited time only. New pastel pink-tinted sweet and savoury treats will be served on traditional three-tiered High Tea stands and paired with a choice of one of two botanic gin cocktails, the signature ‘Pink Me’ gin goblet or a strawberry martini.
“With gin trending, we wanting to trade traditional teacups for a more modern alternative and the market shows a tell-tale sign that gin is the 2018 drink of choice. Plus, this is the perfect time of year to celebrate the colour pink, with the warm spring weather, pink gin is refreshing, summery and has the added benefit of tasting like ripe, juicy strawberries! We look forward to showcasing our Pink Me Gin High Tea to guests,” says Gabor Sziklar, Food & Beverage Director, InterContinental Sydney.
The ‘Pink Me’ Gin High Tea menu features regular favourites that have been given a rosy makeover, covering tea sandwiches, hot savouries, plus hot and chilled sweets. Punters will delight in strawberry and yoghurt macarons; raspberry and rhubarb choux; watermelon, rosewater and lychee cups; plus chicken and mushroom pies, classic egg sandwiches and sundried tomato and basil pesto arancini to satisfy the savoury palate. Not forgetting the pastry team’s famous buttermilk scones with clotted cream and ruby-red raspberry jam.
The Pink Me Gin High Tea stand is available seven days a week and is $59 per person, which includes the stand and a pink strawberry gin cocktail.
