Three Blue Ducks have reopened their doors with a fresh offering for locals in both Sydney and Byron Bay.
Residents in Byron Bay and surrounds can now order an essential fruit and vegetable box, available Tuesdays and Fridays for pick-up from Three Blue Ducks at The Farm, or available for delivery.
Sydney is also set to reopen in a weeks’ time operating out of their original café in Bronte on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for pick-up between 8-11am, and delivering to a handful of nearby suburbs on Tuesdays and Fridays to begin with.
Chef and co-owner, Darren Robertson is excited about making fresh produce easy and convenient for people to access at home. “With the essentials box, we want to give people access to good quality day-to-day staples without having to leave their house,” Robertson said.
Customers can choose to expand their fresh produce boxes with additions such as organic farm eggs, sourdough from The Bread Social in Byron or Iggy’s in Sydney, a range of gourmet pantry items and last but not least, alcohol from the Three Blue Ducks restaurant menu.
Co-owner and new Masterchef Judge, Andy Allen, is also bringing some fun to isolation, encouraging customers to partake in some healthy competition utilising the Ducks produce boxes and a ‘mystery ingredient’ that will change on a fortnightly basis.
“We’ve always made it a huge focus to interact with our community, so we thought the mystery ingredient challenge is a perfect way to encourage our followers to expand their repertoire and have some fun in the kitchen, ” Allen said.
Participants can upload their dishes to Instagram tagging @ThreeBlueDucks and include the hashtag #TheDucksChallenge for their chance to win a prize and share their creation with others.
Those who want a night off cooking can also enjoy tasty, nutritious take-home meals. From next week, Bronte will be offering a range of restaurant-quality dishes created by chef and co-owner Mark LaBrooy. Available for pick-up in Byron are freezer-favourites such vegan moussaka and a pasture-raised beef lasagne.
The Byron Produce Store is also reopening daily from 8am – 1pm with strict social distancing policies in place, giving locals access to a range of essentials such as bread and baked goods from The Bread Social, eggs, milk, flour, meat, take-home meals, Single O coffee and a range of beer, wine, spirits and pre-made cocktails (including the tried and true favourites – Negroni, Margarita and Espresso Martini).
Similarly, Bronte will be opening a pop up sidebar, where you can drop by and buy produce, meals and tea between 8 and 11am.
Robertson said “The Ducks, since day one, has always been about supporting the local community, so it feels like the right thing to reopen and help serve the needs of the community, especially in times like these.”
