The much-anticipated opening of the all-new Watson’s at The Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park will open in line with the public health orders for Sydney on Monday 18th October, 2021. Entering the Sydney pub scene following a million-dollar renovation of the longstanding PJ Gallagher’s Irish Pub.

Watson’s is a large, multifaceted venue which can cater to a wide variety of crowds, the perfect place for a meal with the family, drinks with your mates or a place to celebrate your next special event.

Strutting a whole new look, the revitalised space makes use of the two-storey interior to unveil a fresh, open and vibrant establishment. Saying goodbye to the once dark and dated venue with almost every element having undergone a complete overhaul, including the two alfresco spotted gum decks in the beer garden, home to a courtyard bar and a 4-metre mega screen, perfect for catching all the sporting action with a schooner in hand.

By day, the sun-drenched beer garden is just screaming out for long lunches and Sunday sessions, coupled with acoustic performances. The best seats in the house are undoubtedly those out on the deck underneath the 3, giant Moreton Bay Fig Trees, which come to life at dusk, adorned with over 2.5km of fairy lights. You can also perch upon the alfresco servery for laid back afternoon bevies with mates, looking out onto the Hordern Pavilion.

Moving inside, the main bar and bistro area, which has undergone a spacious redesign allowing an abundance of natural light to shine through the venue. With ample seating for diners and high tops near the bar, numerous big screens and touches of greenery. The focal point is the main bar itself which features tallow wood custom joinery and a stunning Rivera stone top, home to 32 beer taps.

At its core, Watson’s will offer everything you would expect from your local pub, home to modern Australian traditional pub food, classics with a few delicious twists. Majority of the menu will be made in house and will feature pickles, preserves and sauces using only the best, fresh, seasonal and local produce, highlighting local suppliers like Vic’s Premium Quality Meats.

The kitchen is headed by Uriel Kilala, Head Chef of the former iconic stalwart, Martin Place Bar. The menu has been designed to cater to a diverse crowd, you’ll be able to grab a quick burger or schnitty on a game day, a fresh and delicious salad or fish dish for lunch during the week or share a stunning selection of snacks and small plates amongst friends.

There are also a few hero items which will be synonymous with Watson’s including, Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders with house ranch and pickles or as a meal in the Watson’s 3 Piece Feed alongside fries, gravy, corn cob and a dinner roll. What would be an Aussie pub without a classic Aussie BBQ nibblie? The Old School French Onion Cob Loaf with celery and carrots is where it’s at, washed down with a West Coast Cooler or two!

The Grill menu will be home to 4 cuts including a 1kg Ranger Valley Black Onyx Grain Fed Rib Eye, served on the bone with charred lemon, chimichurri and red wine jus. Designed to be shared between two with the addition of sides. There is also a whole braised Moroccan-spiced Lamb Shoulder with crispy polenta, fried Brussels and honey glazed carrots.

There is a very generous kids’ menu where they can dive into dishes like the Rigatoni Lamb Ragu or build their own Taco with Fried Buttermilk Chicken Tenders and all the toppings.

If that all wasn’t sweet enough there is a Tiramisu or Warm Sticky Date Pudding with butterscotch sauce to finish.

Watson’s has a pretty solid beverage offering. Featuring a variety of (majority Australian) wines by the glass and bottle and a vast selection of craft, international and Australian beers bottled and from the 32 taps. The cocktail list features all your classics including a few spritz like the Watson’s Cobbler as well as Espresso Martinis on tap and built carafes designed to share including the Rosé Carafe with vodka, T2 rose tea, lemon juice and lemonade.
