The Argyle is turbocharging its long weekend celebrations by transforming its two floors, six bars and outdoor courtyard into an Australian-themed extravaganza. The Potbelleez kick-start the weekend festivities on Friday, 25 January, taking to the stage at midnight to play an all-star set of electronic-pop hits.

The fun continues on Australia Day – Saturday, 26 January – with a sizzling summer BBQ in The Argyle’s courtyard from 11am, featuring snags, burgers, prawn skewers and lamb chops. Bringing Saturday night to a close is Australia’s very own DJ Tigerlily, who is hitting the decks at midnight with a fusion of house, dance and electronic hits. Sign up for free entry before 9pm.

Spend Australia Day in The Rocks at the historic precinct’s newest restaurant, Tayim. The expert team of mixologists from the Middle-Eastern influenced restaurant have created ‘Anna’s Passion’, an exclusive cocktail for Australia Day which will be available throughout the public holiday weekend.

Anna’s Passion, named so in honour of Russian ballerina and namesake of the Pavlova, Anna Pavlova. Anna’s Passion is inspired by the iconic Australian dessert with the ingredients of vodka, vanilla liquor, lemon, fresh passionfruit, and egg all shaken together to create a delicious meringue like taste – the cocktail is then finished with a fresh spritz of rose aroma.

Munich Brauhaus, The Bavarian and The Bavarian

Munich Brauhaus, The Bavarian and The Bavarian Beerhaüs are kicking off the Australia Day long weekend on Friday, 25 January with happy hour from 4pm to 6pm. Craft beers, spirits and house wines are all $5, with $1 chicken wings also on offer. Guests at The Bavarian Beerhaüs can indulge in a selection of free royal snacks, including buffalo wings, loaded fries and bratwurst rolls.

A limited-edition Australia Day loaded schnitzel is also available all weekend for $25, featuring a classic chicken schnitty smothered, covered and loaded with authentic Aussie toppings of beetroot, pineapple, bacon, egg and cheese.

Endeavour Tap Rooms

Endeavour Tap Rooms will open early on Australia Day, welcoming patrons from 10am with meaty-menu specials, including the almighty Steak Sarnie served on rye bread with caramelized onion and rocket with fries ($24) and Pulled Pork Burger with slaw, bacon crumb, pickles, mustard mayo and fries ($22).

$8 tinnies of Endeavour Beer Citrus Ale will also be available throughout the day.
