Daniel San Manly is hosting a month-long Cherry Blossom Festival and filling the restaurant with floor to ceiling blooms for the prettiest social media snaps.

‘Sakura Sakura! A Cherry Blossom Festival’ is the venue’s tribute to Daniel San’s Japanese heritage and the magical time of year when the country’s cherry blossom trees are in full bloom. The festival begins on 1 September, the first day of spring, running until 7 October with pink-inspired, cherry blossom special dishes, cherrylicious cocktails and a fabulous floral photo wall.

Daniel San’s chefs are playing with the theme and serving pop-up specials throughout the month. Put on your pink karate belt and sit down to Sakura mochi ball skewers, Sakura vege burgers, pink pork bao buns and even Sakura sushi. Monday to Friday Daniel San is dishing up food and drink deals including $20 Kirin beers + Sakura burgers and they’ve even promised to bring back the utterly indulgent Taiyaki waffles, this time stuffed with Nutella and a pink twist.

Pop your pink cherry with Daniel San’s Sakura-flavoured cocktail and drinks menu. The festival will be the first to pour Koyomi Highball, a ready-to-drink blend of Japanese shochu, soda water and zesty ingredients. If Bellinis are more your thing, dive in to the cherry blossom tasting plate complemented by two rosy hours of bottomless Blossom Bellinis ($59 per person available Saturday and Sunday lunch). Plus big kids and little kids can slurp rosy-coloured milkshakes topped with sugary fairy floss while playing retro arcade games in the neon drenched bar.

The cherry on the top of this spring festival is the Sakura installation. Daniel San’s main restaurant will be a riot of pale pink blooms as the space is filled with hundreds of cherry blossom trees. With cloudy florals trailing from the ceiling and a blossom photo wall for visitors to capture a ‘pretty in pink’ profile picture – does it even count as springtime if you haven’t had your picture taken in the cherry blossoms?!

Come out of winter hibernation and eat, drink and play pink at Daniel San this September. Sakura Sakura! A Cherry Blossom Festival runs from 1 September – 7 October.
