Launching prime time on tonight- Thursday, 29 September, SBS will premiere a bold new original television series, Dishing It Up, which wipes away the showbiz sheen to reveal the hilarious home truths behind our favourite cooking shows.

In this eight-part series, couch critics turn into cooks, where six daring duos will invite cameras into their home kitchens and put celebrity chef recipes to the test. Armed with whatever equipment they own; the home cooks will attempt to recreate recipes from culinary greats; test – physically and mentally – the innovative recipes of Poh Ling Yeow; and see if viral creations from Matty Matheson are worth the hype.

Creator and Series Producer, Michelle Galluzzo of The Precinct said: “Dishing It Up is a cooking show like no other – made to entertain both cooks and non-cooks alike. There’s no competition (other than some healthy couple rivalry), no manufactured drama (apart from the occasional smoke alarm), and no prize (besides bragging rights from the better home cook). The beauty of Dishing It Up is that it’s real, raw, and relatable – a stark contrast to the perfect, stylised celebrity chef cooking shows we’re used to.”

The home cooks span generations, cultures, and cooking abilities, united in just one thing: their love of food. Viewers will cringe, cheer on and laugh with (and at) mother and daughter Magda and Sara, sassy friends Anna and Matt, best mates Hari and Jonathan, married couple Fiona and Jeremy, doting husbands Yash and Stefan, and hipster parents Waz and Jen.

Radio host, actress, writer, and comedian Veronica Milsom adds her comedic flare as the narrator of all eight episodes.
