This weekend, the summer comes truly alive when Slide The City arrives in Sydney, a giant slip and slide that takes Sydneysiders along a 300 metre adventure in Centennial Park.
Founded in 2013, Slide The City took its idea to only three cities in America in its first year. This year however, the company is reaching 15 countries with over 150 separates events, including 10 in Australia.
“We spend so much time walking, running and driving around our cities,” says Slide The City event director Rob Capogna, “But how many times have you been able to say you slid down your city streets?”
The event will also feature local music, food vendors and giveaways, and promises to be an excellent family, fun-filled way to cool down this weekend. And with the sun shining hard, what’s stopping you?
The event does focus on the green side of life too, with practices in place to recirculate the water used in the slide during the event and all water being returned to the community after. So you can enjoy yourself without worrying about the environment.
Slide The City encourages all ages over 5 years and 115 cm tall, and tickets are still available for the 15th and 16th of January for Sydney, and a waitlist for Wollongong on the 17th.
Tickets are $25 for one slide, $45 for three and $60 for the ultimate experience, an unlimited slide pass for the the true adrenaline junkie.
