Who here loves a flutter? We sure do! Reigning TAB Everest champion Redzel begins his title defence at Royal Randwick this Saturday as ticket sales and wagering interest in the world’s richest race on turf intensifies. You gotta be quick to ensure you don’t miss this one – it’s going to be a goodie, as it marks the start of the Spring racing season!

Redzel ($1.70 TAB Fixed Odds) takes on TAB Everest rival Invincible Star ($2.30 TAB Fixed Odds) in Saturday’s Concorde Stakes at Royal Randwick, another key pathway to the $13 million TAB Everest on 13 October.

General admission ticket sales for the TAB Everest are already five times ahead of the same stage last year as customers continue to take advantage of the Australian Turf Club’s 20 per cent discount offer, which ends on 12 September.

The Australian Turf Club will also support National Jockeys Trust day this Saturday, with a minute’s silence and a blessing of the track at 12.45pm, just after race 1, ahead of an official function in the Royal Randwick ballroom.

Saturday’s meeting at Royal Randwick features four Group races, all of which will have a bearing on more feature races during the Everest Carnival in Sydney.

The feature race is the $250,000 Group 2 Bisley Workwear Chelmsford Stakes, with a full field of 15 runners headed in the market by the Chris Waller trained and ATC Oaks champion Unforgotten ($3.50 TAB Fixed Odds).

She takes on two former Victoria Derby winners in Prized Icon ($6 TAB Fixed Odds) and Ace High ($18 TAB Fixed Odds), among a host of chances.

The $160,000 Group 3 Concorde Stakes and the $200,000 Group 2 Tramway Stakes feature TAB Everest runners and several contenders for remaining slots in the field.

The $200,000 Group 2 Darley Furious Stakes continues the Darley Princess series, with the Kris Lees trained Miss Fabulass ($3.40 TAB Fixed Odds) favourite ahead of Pure Elation ($5 TAB Fixed Odds) and Longines Golden Slipper runner up Oohood ($6 TAB Fixed Odds).

Fiesta ($6 TAB Fixed Odds) trained by Chris Waller is aiming to take out the second leg of the Darley Princess Series after winning the Group 2 Darley Silver Shadow Stakes first up.
