Need a new hobby? In partnership with Work-Shop, Darling Square launches six art classes to try. Choose from watercolours, brush lettering, painting, juggling, ukulele lessons or urban sketching. You won’t know your secret skills until you try.

Watercolour and Wine

Banging beats, wine and water colouring…what a way to unwind after a long day at work. Whether you’re an experienced painter or have never picked up a brush, watercolour and wine is the workshop for you. Create your own masterpiece whilst learning practical skills and techniques used in watercolour painting by your fearless leader, Sally Cornwell.

Ukulele for Noobs at Darling Square

There is a time in everyone’s life where they dream of learning the ukulele, stop dreaming and start strumming today.

Learn basic strum patterns, chord structure and swing. They are all easier than you think with some proper guidance. We’ll have you playing a sweet song in no time. Party shirts encouraged.

Urban Sketching at Darling Square

Get amongst the urban jungle that is Darling Square and start sketch Sydney’s latest urban neighbourhood. With world renown architecture by Kengo Kuma and street art from Australian artists Nike Savvas, Brendan van Hek and Peta Kruger you’ll be spoilt for inspiration.

You’ll learn the basics of perspective drawing, landscape composition, simplifying complex city scenes, and several different drawing techniques. What a start to your weekend!

Brush Lettering and Design

Give your artwork, handwriting and future invites a real upgrade with the YaMogu lettering and design workshop. Brush lettering is a beautiful and creative art form that anyone can do. Get stuck into the nitty-gritty and learn to write like a royal in this 3-hour workshop. Tickets include your own set of pens which means you’ll be brushing like a pro in no time.

Juggling Masterclass at Darling Square

Always wanted to juggle, but never had the balls to?

In this class, you’ll learn the correct techniques to master juggling.  In this hands-on workshop you’ll be juggling alongside a world champion juggler – progressing from tricks with one and two balls, before moving onto three.

Painting and Piccolos

Learn how to paint like a pro with a piccolo in hand. The class will teach you practical skills and techniques used in watercolour whilst you whip up your own masterpiece. Colour and caffeine, we’re calling it the best possible way to start your day.
