Street art aficionados Bill Dimas and John Wiltshire, co-Directors of aMBUSH Gallery, and Project Five’s curators, are passionate promoters of contemporary street art in Australia. They insist this is an unmissable opportunity to own a piece of Australian art history. Dimas said, “The lineup of works couldn’t be more relevant. Sydney based Pop Surrealist Apeseven has created Vortex; an expression of freedom and strength entwined into the cycles of life in the form of a hummingbird. Gemma O’Brien, one of Sydney’s most prolific and sought-after typographers has created DAZE a continuation of her exploration into creating bold, typographic artworks.”

“Fintan Magee, a leading figure in Australia’s Street Art and Contemporary Mural movements has created The Way Down using acrylic on canvas and Vans The Omega uses elements of geometry and colour to create a visual layout of the natural world and dimensional surroundings of the Darling Quarter architecture in Frequent Memory.”

P In line with Project Five’s commitment to supporting pathways for youth in need to get into creative industries, all proceeds will go to a charity to be nominated on the night. Project Five has over the last seven years raised $80,000 in funds for various charities that support this goal.

“One of the many great things about Project Five is the amazing art that is created by Australia’s next wave of world class talent. At the auction buyers know they have made a great investment and at the same time creating a positive impact in people’s lives,” said Dimas.

Abigail Campion, Retail & Marketing Manager for Darling Quarter says Project Five has continued to not only to be beneficial to the charities it supports, but also to the Darling Quarter community. “We always welcome the energy and creativity of Project Five. The precinct has really come alive in the past month with the outdoor exhibition, live art events and kids’ urban art workshops.” she said.

The auction will be presided over by expert art auctioneer Anne Phillips, Director of Art Market Works.
