The Rooftop, above the well known Shelbourne Hotel, is set to be your new favourite place for alfresco sunset drinks, relaxed rooftop dining, music and good times with harbour views.
The beautiful new venue takes inspiration from the Hamptons. Aiming to make you feel like you’ve found yourself on the garden terrace of a friend’s luxury holiday home. Think blue skies and hanging chairs in the open air. Tropical palms, warm textures of handwoven rattan and festoon lights. Herringbone tiles and bespoke wallpaper in hues of blue add to the chilled out alfresco feel.
The most impressive part is the retractable roof, which welcomes in the summer sun and also makes The Rooftop a great weatherproof destination. While floor to ceiling windows guarantee Darling Harbour views and spectacular sunsets night after night.
The menu is all about sharing, with a mix of modern share plates focusing on local seafood, premium meats, salads and skewers prepared in the open rooftop kitchen. There is also an extensive drinks menu featuring a variety of delicious cocktails, beers and wines to suit all tastes. Long lunches are encouraged, as are group bookings and more intimate candlelit date nights with views. The menu and atmosphere is relaxed, fun and friendly.
The entertainment schedule includes live and acoustic sessions on Wednesday nights, and DJs with live elements on a Friday. If a new rooftop bar isn’t exciting enough, The Rooftop will be hosting a Veuve Clicquot Champagne Pop-Up bar starting 3 October.
