TodayTix, the digital gateway to arts and cultural experiences that launched in Sydney in March, will offer exclusive $45 ‘mobile Rush’ tickets in partnership with Opera Australia for their production of Madama Butterfly at Sydney Opera House from Friday, 28 June.

In this innovative new production of Puccini’s classic opera Madama Butterfly, director Graeme Murphy will again be joined by Janet Vernon, Michael Scott-Mitchell and Jennifer Irwin along with digital artist Sean Nieuwenhuis to deliver the first of Opera Australia’s 2019 digital productions. The visually stunning designs will be complemented by Murphy’s choreography to capture the grace and gravity of this heartbreaking tale.

By leveraging the TodayTix mobile Rush ticketing technology, culture lovers and Madama Butterfly buyers can now purchase $45 mobile Rush tickets directly through the TodayTix app, eliminating the need to queue up at the theatre for last-minute access on the day of the performance.

To ‘unlock’ mobile Rush tickets, TodayTix users are simply asked to spread the word on their social media account. Once unlocked, the $45 price point will be made available in-app every morning of each performance, first come first served, starting at 9am.

TodayTix connects more than 5 million theatregoers worldwide to more than 1,300 live performance venues around the world and gives audiences affordable access to tickets up to 75% off the box office price. Through an emphasis on mobile technology, clarity on prices, and partnerships with the most in- demand shows, TodayTix connects young audiences with the arts, with Millennials comprising 65% of their customers.
