Chin Chin Sydney has joined forces with popular artist and designer, FRIDA LAS VEGAS and Sydney’s premier event stylists Valiant Events to createSmoke and Mirrors, from 12 June.
Chin Chin’s basement event space will be transformed into a fantastical vision of the glamour, excess and decadence of 1980s Sydney through thethemes of art, interiors and dining.
Take in the art-filled surrounds and enjoy your choice of Frida’s favourite dishes from the a la carte menu, or just say “FRIDA Me” and for $69.50 Chin Chin will take care of the rest. For a limited time only, the menu will reflect the Frida experience with two inspired additions, including Frida’s Fancy Pav; Pavlova with apple jelly, minted dragon fruit, whipped rose cream, fairy floss and topped with chocolate covered popping candy, and the Frida-tini; Midori, Gin, Luxardo Maraschino, Absinthe, lemon, egg white.
Chin Chin, FRIDA LAS VEGAS and Valiant Events will create a stylised contemporary vision of the past bringing art, food, drinks, furniture and lighting together.
Of the inspiration for the partnership, FRIDA LAS VEGAS said: “Smoke and Mirrors celebrates the fabulous megawatt glamour of 1980s Sydney – a neon-hued urban jungle where powerful shoulder-padded alpha women ascend boardrooms, ‘do deals’, guzzle cocktails, and generally exercise their power, agency and hubris with all the subtlety of a 12-inch stiletto.”
FRIDA LAS VEGAS (AKA Stavroula Adameitis) is a Sydney-based pop artist and designer of statement fashion and accessories who has created looks for Katy Perry and Kate Miller Heidke, among others. Frida has worked across creative industries including film, animation, graphic design and styling, and her multi-disciplinary work has been embraced the world over.
