George St Deli has just opened its second Sydney location, ‘GS.Deli,’ in Surry Hills, following the smashing success of their Redfern debut two years ago. And to celebrate in style, they’re giving away 100 free cookies and coffees this Saturday, August 31st!

Founded by the dynamic mother-daughter duo Bernadette Sheppard and Anna Berlyn in August 2022, George St Deli has quickly become a go-to spot for those craving authentic NYC-style bagels, scrumptious cookies, and homemade lemonade. Now, they’re bringing all that deliciousness to Surry Hills with even bigger plans to expand across Sydney.

“We’re excited to offer something truly unique that stands out in the food scene,” says Berlyn. “Our goal is to bring GS.Deli’s vibe and flavor to Sydney’s coolest neighborhoods.”

Inspired by NYC legends like Katz’s Deli and Russ & Daughters, GS.Deli is a perfect blend of family tradition, hospitality, and a dash of design flair. The Surry Hills menu is a delightful mirror of Redfern’s, featuring their signature bagels like the LOX CLASSIC (smoked trout, cream cheese, red onion, capers, tomato) and the PASTRAMI (wagyu smoked brisket pastrami, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, Russian dressing). For those with a sweet tooth, they’ve got pastries and cookies in five drool-worthy flavors.

The new Surry Hills spot carries over the same nostalgic diner vibe as Redfern, complete with monochromatic tones, classic ’50s and ’60s tunes, and staff rocking black-and-white uniforms. It’s a little slice of NYC right in the heart of Sydney!
