Charming, unpretentious food with a nod to Britain.

The creators behind the Hazy Rose in Darlinghurst have teamed up to open Downstairs Restaurant on Sydney’s iconic Stanley Street, Darlinghurst. Sydney Social 101 has the absolute pleasure of being invited along to sample the offering.

Downstairs Restaurant takes you on a memorable trip to the UK with interior fittings including quirky bowler hats recreated as lamp shades, British band posters, comfy booths resembling the British railway line and plenty of UK paraphernalia – Downstairs Restaurant is the perfect spot for a divine meal complete with a British soundtrack. We really felt at home and couldn’t wait to see what was in store.

We tucked into a selection of the dishes and it really felt like we were eating at our Nana’s house – true British home cooking at its best!
