The Inner West is home to some amazing food, so it comes as no surprise that Da Vinci’s Restaurant in Summer Hill served up a mouth-watering selection of some of the best Italian food in Sydney when we checked it out last week.

menu_header-600x600With a focus on fresh ingredients, traditional recipes and amazingly friendly service, Da Vinci’s authenticity shines through with every mouthful of delicious antipasto, homemade pasta, and seriously some of the best wood fired pizzas I’ve eaten anywhere in Sydney, all paired with a superb selection of wine.

Some of the highlights included the Carpaccio di Tonno, a Black Pepper Seared Tuna with Spanish Onion and Baby Capers, the Spaghetti with Blue Swimmer Crab, Sage and Cherry Tomato, and any number of the traditional pizzas on offer. (There’s no way I could choose just one).

As if that wasn’t enough, Da Vinci’s is also home to the award winning Gelatony Gelato, music to anyone’s ears at the end of a superb meal. Having learnt from his father when he was a child and honing his craft ever since, Da Vinci’s owner Tonino has perfected the art of creating authentic Italian gelato. Showcasing traditional flavours such as hazelnut, Pistachio and Chocolate, as well as ever-changing combinations and creations, Gelatony is definitely worth loosening the belt for at the end of the night!

If you enjoy your Italian, Da Vinci’s is one of the shining lights in Sydney and a must-visit for an authentic dining experience. AC.
