Burgers galore, burgers in our bellies, enough burgers to live in a burger house… Safe to say we love burgers and they make us happy. In celebration of all things burger and International Burger Day, we’ve pulled together a round up of the best burger offers in and around Sydney:

The Light Brigade

Burger lovers rejoice! Woollahra’s beloved hotel, The Light Brigade is satisfying all cravings when they bring back the famous ‘Trufflenator’ pop-up for National Burger Day this Saturday 28th May!

Trufflenator Burger

Originating from their sister pub, Dee Why Hotel, the Trufflenator tantalises the taste buds with the combination of a classic Wagyu beef patty, crispy bacon, American cheddar, crunchy onion rings, teamed with a variation of rare fungus to create truffle mayo, truffle butter, truffle infused Havarti cheese and truffle maple syrup, all between a soft Japanese milk bun.

Dee Why Hotel’s Head Chef and creator of the Trufflenator, Brad Johnston will be onsite alongside The Light Brigade’s Executive Chef Marco Adler, to ensure every single burger created is made to perfection.

Sydney-siders can once again get their hands on this succulent, juicy beast-of-a-burger for $21, available at the ground level’s Brigade Bar from 11.30am – 4.30pm. Enticing extras include truffle pecorino chips for $4.50.

To guarantee a taste of this unique burger, purchase a ticket online at http://lightbrigade.com.au/trufflenatorpopup/ or travel on down to The Light Brigade early this National Burger Day, because they will be sure to run out!

The Oaks Hotel

Well known for their mouth-watering ‘pub grub’ food, The Oaks Hotel Bar & Grill menu includes five varieties of beef, chicken and vegie burgers – bring on the #foodporn! Standouts on the menu this year is the popular Buttermilk Chicken Burger, and, available especially for International Burger Day, the meaty Ribwich Burger.

Crispy fried buttermilk chicken, Oaks slaw, smooth aioli sauce, warm brioche bun, and a side of fries, the Buttermilk Chicken Burger is no average chicken burger with bold Southern flavours!

Fit for an ‘FBAS’ king or queen, the International Burger Day special Ribwich Burger melts in your mouth with its short rib meat (braised and smoked for hours), brioche bun, Oaks slaw, and special homemade BBQ sauce.

The Oaks is open: Mon – Sat 10.00am – 12.00am & Sun 12.00pm – 12.00am. Located at: 118 Military Rd Neutral Bay, NSW 2089, Tel: (02) 9953-5515

Brookyln Depot

Brooklyn Depot

The Gold Coast’s Brooklyn Depot recently launched its second highly anticipated venue in Surry Hills, Sydney. The venue’s Chef prepared menu is inspired by Old Brooklyn street specialties, including of course, its infamous handcrafted burgers.

It’s hard to look past the signature double stack Depot Burger, and injecting your own chilli syringe into the FUHGEDDABOUDIT burger is also a must. The meal wouldn’t be complete without fries, which you can have plain, or ‘Brooklynised’ to include bacon, onion rings, cheese sauce and frickles (battered and fried pickles). For those of you on a health kick, you have the option to ‘Shun The Bun’, and have your burger served in a bowl on a Depot Crib Salad

The Cut Bar & Grill

Signature David Blackmore Wagyu Beef Burger ($30)

Composed of three cuts of David Blackmore Wagyu beef, as well as truffles, this is a truly decadent burger that’s bursting with flavour. It’s served in a house-made brioche bun with pickles and horseradish and is accompanied with house-made tomato sauce and triple cooked chips. This burger pairs well the 2014 Hay Shed Hill Shiraz Tempranillo from Margaret River, Western Australia ($11 a glass).

El Camino Cantina

Ghost Chilli BBQ Burger ($16)
Be one of the first to try the Ghost Chilli BBQ Burger at El Camino Cantina. This mecca for Tex-Mex lovers will open its doors in The Rocks on Wednesday, 25 May, just in time for National Burger Day. The Ghost Chilli BBQ Burger features the world’s hottest chillies, which have been pickled in this instance to reduce firepower, but still give a noticeable kick. These little heart-starters sit under a Black Angus beef patty, accompanied with avocado, tomato, iceberg lettuce, Cholula hot sauce, and spicy Pepper Jack cheese. The bun is smeared with ghost chilli jam.

This flavoursome burger is perfectly paired with Urban Brewing Co.’s latest craft beer release, Flaming Hellcat XXX Especial lager ($8 a glass) , which is served on draught exclusively at El Camino Cantina.

The Schulz is a classic cheeseburger. A slice of American cheese clings meltingly to the top of a succulent beef patty that is served inside a soft slider bun. Add haus-made pickles, ketchup, mustard and onions and it’s quite a flavoursome affair. The Schulz washes down well with the Crafty Bavarian Brewing Co.’s Hop Dock Wheat Beer ($8 a glass).

The Hendl Fried Chicken Burger ($14)

If you can’t decide between fried chicken, or a burger, then The Hendl has got you covered. Succulent crispy fried chicken breast is served in a super soft potato roll, with habanero pickle butter and cucumber kimchi for added kick. The Hendl pairs well with the Crafty Bavarian Brewing Co.’s low carb Blonde Moment ($8 a glass).
