North Bondi Fish has  launched a takeaway menu, bringing back much-loved favourite dishes and a menu of fun drinks, best enjoyed with a side of mates. The takeaway menu is available from Wednesday 27 May and guests are encouraged to either order ahead or simply drop in after a swim, or on their way home to order and pick up a meal.

The menu comprises North Bondi Fish classics such as the fish tacos with cabbage, radish and jalapeno, the fish curry with coconut, lemongrass and turmeric and of course, a dish as iconic as Bondi beach itself – fish and chips. If you’re in the mood for something lighter, there are mixed sashimi platters or fresh-cooked Tiger prawns with spicy cocktail sauce to share which pair nicely with the extensive wine list including magnums of AIX Rosé and both Ruinart and Veuve Clicquot champagne. While you’re there, add on a 1L jar of Bondi Beer (pulled to order) or a fresh new cocktail menu that’s served ready-to-drink for the ultimate at-home aperitivo hour.

The drinks menu has been created by newcomer to Solotel, yet a true veteran in the Australian industry, Ed Loveday. Loveday has brought the same sense of beach-side fun that North Bondi Fish is known for to the menu, with a list that’s got something for both the traditionalists and the more adventurous in mind and is hard to resist.

“I had to give the people North Bondi Fish’s signature spicy margarita… apparently what Bondi has missed the most during a global pandemic.” says Loveday. “ But we’ve also included a couple of really fresh drinks to compliment the food offering, including a passionfruit margarita with dragonfruit – it’s a no brainer, a yuzu negroni, a peach spritz and a mandarin gimlet that takes advantage of that incredible flavour now that  imperial mandarins are finally in season in Australia. Plus there’s a classic negroni and an old fashioned for the purists amongst us.”

Of course, North Bondi Fish is all about gathering your mates and having some fun, so the NBF Family Pack brings together favourite dishes to share between groups of four for $155. Add on a 500ml ready-to-drink cocktail by Loveday and you’ve got yourself a party at home.

For dessert, get your sweet fix with a boozy rosé sorbet, made in-house.

For those who want a hand in the cooking, there will be a small menu of “Ready-to-Cook” items such as a fish and leek pie to serve four or a fish curry pack for two. Down the line, the menu will be expanded as well as other ready-to-cook dishes and cuts of fish added to the menu.

The takeaway menu is available from North Bondi Fish starting Wednesday May 27. Orders can be made ahead of time via nbftakeaway.com.au or by simply walking in, or calling ahead. Pick up is available 5:30pm – 8pm Wednesday to Friday, 12pm – 8pm Saturday and 12pm – 3pm Sunday.
