Melbourne Japanese-Fusion favourite, Sash has opened in Sydney! Sash is synonyms with its unique flair for creativity and twist on the classics, with Japanese infused dishes. Think; sashimi pizzas, Japanese sliders, giant dessert tacos and more.

Behind Sash are two best friends from high school, Dave Nelson and Kyle who started out with no experience in hospitality. After a month-long trip exploring the best of New York’s food scene, Nelson and Stagoll realised they had been inspired to open a venue back home in Australia. Finding a unique point of difference with their award-winning Sashimi Pizza they knew they had their hero product and built out a whole Japanese fusion menu unlike anything that had been seen before.

With interior designer Melissa Collison at the helm, Sash’s Sydney location seats up to 160 people across two platform levels and bar. With rustic, concrete walls and floors the venue is injected with pops of colour from New York 60’s inspired Dave Flavin neon lights and a hand painted watercolour artwork by artist, Shannon Creese of pinks and purples. Perfect for a date night or large group, the bottom level of Sash has a more intimate feel with Tokyo inspired deep purple booths and banquet seating with pastel purple table tops.

With classics remaining fixed on the menu, Sash in Sydney has appointed Peter Wu as Executive Chef bringing his own twist the dishes and a unique Sydney offering. Must try’s include the Spicy Tuna and Wagyu Truffle Taco, Blue Cheese Sashimi Pizza and Sake Buttermilk Japanese Nuggets with Maple Syrup.

Not to be missed are the Instagram-worthy cocktails from Head Mixologist Kyle Rose (ex-Go Go Bar, Chin Chin) including the Japanese inspired ‘Geisha Girl’ (Cranberry, Plum Wine, Yuzu, Sake, Lemon Juice), ‘Yuzu Cheesecake’ (Yuzu, Sake, Lemon, Green Tea) and The ‘Coco Espresso Martini’ (Coffee, Vodka, De Kuyper Liqueur, Coconut Liqueur).
