Serious Festival-going is hungry work so we’ve teamed up with some of Sydney’s top food vendors to fuel your Festival all January long. Sydney’s best gelataria Gelato Messina returns to our Village with the 8th Wonder of the edible World – Il Carnivale di Gelato Messina, a new and improved CARNI CANDY menu and to top it all off a new gelato doughnut bar whipping up delicious creamy creations.

We’re excited to bring you The Bearded Bakers from Knafeh Bakery, Porteño’s famous Argentinian meats and treats, hot and crispy Belgian waffles by DE WAFEL, Texas style fare from Byron Bay Smoke HouseSundweesh’s popular peri peri chicken slaw and much more. Loosen your belts and prepare to eat!

Meriton Festival Village

Wrap your tongue around a taste of carnival this January with Il Carnivale di Gelato Messina. Test your strength of stomach with seven menu items – including cult festival classics that have been re-imagined into new and improved versions of their former selves. Remember the MESSINAWIENER! or the YEEEAH DAWGS!? they’re back!

On top of these spine (and teeth) chilling attractions, Gelato Messina have cracked their creamy whips to create a new gelato doughnut bar, courtesy of their gelato ringmaster Duncan. Duncan Doughnuts. Get it? Guess your weight before and after a visit to Duncan’s Donut Bar with treats such as FIVE MILLION DOUGH-LARS and THE BIGGEST GAINER.

The boys from Porteño will be bringing the good times and heat to the Village once again, serving up your favourite Argentinian smoked, grilled, fried and barbequed meats and vegetarian treats. Expect baked pretzels with beer, cheese & mustard sauce and Porteño’s famous smoked wagyu brisket in a reuben sandwich.

There will also be Italian street food by Puntino Trattoria, freshly shucked oysters by Oysters Unplugged, authentic Vietnamese Pho from Bar Pho, burgers by Harvest Trader & Co, traditional handmade pastizzi by Bite Size Delights, and freshly-brewed coffee by Bar Coco.

The Domain

Each year our Domain concert series brings the city together with three fantastic events and this January we’re bringing a huge line-up of food to complete your best summer music experience ever. Wholesome and hearty Gozlemes from Emmy’s Turkish Gozleme will be in hot demand, as will the house favourite crunchy peri peri chicken slaw by Sundweesh. You’d be hard pressed to stay away from the hot and crispy Belgian waffles freshly baked by DE WAFEL or Byron Bay Smoke House’s authentic Texas style fire pit.

There will also be countless tasty delights to pick and choose from including Yan’s Asian, Salt Pepper & Squid, Bad Betty Burgers, American Hot Dog Cart, WOW Pizza, Gourmet Gozleme, Do Me Slowly, Chips on a Stick, Nachos, Running On Empty, American Dog House, Le Wraps, More than catering Pizza and Bar Coco.

The hardest decision you’ll have to make all January will be what food truck to eat at!

Prince Alfred Square in Parramatta

Parramatta’s Summer Nights is our newest fun-packed Festival precinct running on Friday and Saturday nights in Prince Alfred Square with live music, drinks and of course food.

Parramatta is in for a real treat throughout January with the Bearded Bakers from Knafeh Bakery set to put on a food experience like no other. Serving up hand-made sweet, succulent and piping hot puddings fresh from the over in Prince Alfred Park, Knafeh will be a live performance in itself to enjoy. Be transported to the streets of Jerusalem as you observe the truly authentic preparation and baking of the traditional Middle Eastern dessert as they made-to-order right then and there.

For down time in between the fairground rides of Arquitectura de Feria you can follow your nose to Bar Coco who will be brewing up delicious coffee, fill up on a hearty Turkish Gozleme from Emmy’s Turkish Gozleme or get your noodle and dumplings fix from Yan’s Asian.

The Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve

Sydney’s new creative playground, the Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve, will be the place to be this January with pop-up art installations and a free flying fox to revel in throughout the day. Urban Purveyor Group (the group behind Ananas Bar & Brasserie and Saké Restaurant & Bar) will be keeping everyone fed and watered with their food truck full of goodness. Think truffle parmesan fries, popcorn shrimp wraps and wagyu beef dogs, just to name a few. Bar Coco will also be there to keep energies high with coffee and gelato available all day and night.
