Sydney, drop what you’re doing — there’s free jerk chicken up for grabs, and it’s the good kind. To celebrate the launch of its brand-new lunch service, Rosie Campbell’s, Surry Hills’ vibey Jamaican hangout, is giving away 100 of its signature jerk chicken and chips every day this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, until sold out.
Yes, you read that right: free. jerk. chicken. And not just any chicken — this is the real deal. Marinated overnight, smoked over sweet wood, and finished with Rosie Campbell’s signature jerk sauce, it’s the kind of meal that could turn your average workday into a full-blown Caribbean escape (minus the annual leave request).
From next week, the colourful Crown Street favourite will be opening for lunch every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12–3pm, bringing sunshine, spice and soul to the mid-week grind.
The new menu is a full-on flavour fest: jerk or fiery pepper wings ($18), island fish tacos ($19), and Caribbean rice bowls ($24) — all bursting with that island warmth Rosie’s is famous for. But it’s the signature jerk chicken that steals the show. Available in quarter ($23), half ($34) or whole ($57) portions, it comes with pickles, slaw, roti and your choice of sides like crinkle fries, plantains, and the dangerously moreish Jamaican festival (fried flour and cornmeal dough with spiced salsa).
There are also two set menu options — perfect for a quick lunch with the work crew, or for pretending that three margaritas count as “networking.”
Rosie Campbell’s channels the rhythm and soul of Jamaica, with vibrant interiors, warming rums, and a playlist that’ll make your hips move before your brain agrees. It’s the mid-week mood boost we didn’t know we needed.
