It’s the NRL Grand Final Long Weekend, which means half of Sydney is about to lose a day to pies, pre-game commentary and a questions about the 40/20 rule.
The good news is if you need a break from conversations about Shoulder Charges, then Canada Goose has you covered. To celebrate its new Chatswood Chase store, it’s teaming up with Bondi favourite Harry’s Bondi for a complimentary, limited-edition matcha pop-up from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October.
Two exclusive matchas, one very Canadian-Australian mash-up
With mid-spring in full swing, the pop-up is serving two creations that bring the best of both countries together. Neither involves a lukewarm beer.
Mango Horizon is a mango matcha with maple sea salt. It pairs sun-soaked Australian tropical flavour with a Canadian touch of maple, and takes its colour cue from Canada Goose’s FW26 seasonal shade, Solar Aria, a warm, radiant hue.
Maple Cloud is a coconut yoghurt matcha with maple sea salt. Creamy and coastal, it nods to Australia’s beachy sensibility and echoes the clean, crisp tones of the brand’s classic North Star White.
Beats on Saturday
If you’d rather soak up the atmosphere, head in on Saturday 3 October from 11am to 12pm, when a DJ will be bringing an energetic soundtrack to the pop-up. Consider it a gentler way to spend a Saturday than debating the referee’s decisions with a stranger.
About the new store
The matcha is the warm-up act for the main event. This is the first store in Australia to introduce Canada Goose’s new 2.0 Luxury Retail Concept, designed with Norwegian architecture and design studio Snohetta. It’s also the first Canada Goose on Sydney’s North Shore and the brand’s third in Australia, alongside Sydney Westfield and Melbourne Chadstone.
The 254-square-metre space sits on Level One, Chatswood Chase’s dedicated luxury floor, and is worth a wander:
- Local materials: limestone, terrazzo and Australian timber.
- Legacy walls: designed as cartographic charts, including a hillside relief of the Canadian landscape.
- Inuit art: pieces include Owls 7856Q by Joanasie Manning and Your Story by Ningiukulu Teevee.
- The Vault: a private VIP area for personalised styling appointments. It’s the only VIP section this weekend that doesn’t involve a corporate box.
On the racks is the full range across womenswear, menswear, kidswear, footwear and eyewear, including the Fall/Winter 2026 collection from Creative Director Haider Ackermann. With Sydney’s changeable weather in mind, there’s a strong fleece offering, and the store is the exclusive launch spot for the Loma Half Zip and Loma Fleece Jacket.
