FUJIFILM Launches ‘Picture Perfect Partners’ Workshop to Save Relationships (and Your Camera Roll)

If you’ve ever handed your phone to your partner and received a gallery of blurry, unflattering, mid-blink disasters in return — you’re not alone.

FUJIFILM Australia has heard our collective cry for help and is officially coming to the rescue with its brand-new ‘Picture Perfect Partners’ Workshop, designed to finally teach your other half how to take a decent photo of you. (We’ll pause here for applause 👏.)

The first-of-its-kind workshop will be held at the FUJIFILM House of Photography in Sydney on Saturday, 25 October, and it promises to turn the nation’s “Insta Boyfriends”, “Camera Shy GFs”, and “Reluctant Family Photographers” into creative pros.

The Struggle Is Real (and Proven by Science)

According to new research commissioned by FUJIFILM*, a whopping 87% of young Aussies admit their loved ones are “useless” at taking photos of them.

  • 60% blamed unflattering angles.
  • 44% said their partner always catches them mid-blink.
  • And let’s not forget the ultimate offence: the accidental double chin zoom.

It’s official — Australia has a partner photography problem.

FUJIFILM’s genius new workshop aims to end photo-fuelled frustration once and for all. Hosted by photographer and creative director Ben Savage, the one-hour sessions will run throughout the day (10am–3pm) and include:

📸 Hands-on shooting practice
💡 Easy posing + framing tips
🎨 Expert composition hacks
💋 A full glam station (because why not look your best for the practice round?)

By the end of the session, attendees will know how to frame, focus, and capture their loved one like a pro — without the 74-photo trial-and-error process.

Why FUJIFILM’s Getting Involved

“We’ve all been in that situation where you ask someone to take a photo and it’s a total fail,” says Leanne Hughes, Head of Marketing at FUJIFILM Australia. “Our research proves it’s a widespread issue, and this workshop is genuinely about helping people get it right. Guests will walk away with real skills — and a much happier camera roll.”

Ben Savage adds:

“Photos aren’t just pictures — they set the mood. Nearly half of young Aussies say a good or bad photo can actually make or break their day. This workshop is about empowering people to become their loved one’s ultimate Picture Perfect Partner.”

Why We Love It

This might sound like a fun social stunt — and it is — but there’s something really lovely about it too. It’s not just about snapping a better selfie; it’s about connection, confidence, and celebrating each other’s perspective.

Because when you see yourself through the eyes of someone who loves you — and they finally know how to frame the shot — that’s the picture that really matters.
