Last night Sydney Social 101 attended Twentieth Century Fox Films special screening of ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ at Event Cinemas on George Street in Sydney. The film is based on the novel by Thomas Hardy and is directed by Thomas Vinterberg.

‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ is about Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), who attracts three very different suitors, Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts) a sheep farmer (our favourite); Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge) a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen) a prosperous and mature bachelor. The film explores the nature of the relationships and the love between Bathsheba and her three suitors. If you are looking for a chick flick British period drama, which keeps you guessing and rooting for a certain suitor, then this film is perfect for you.

‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ is out in cinemas June 25th.
