Friday night has arrived, the group chat is still asking “so… what are we doing this weekend?” and somehow nobody has made a plan. Lucky for you, Sydney’s newest foodie experience has just landed – and it involves pizza, Italian drinks and a very good excuse to eat carbs.
This Sunday, L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is hosting its very first Neapolitan Pizza Cooking Class, giving Sydney food lovers the chance to learn how to make the real deal from the experts behind one of Naples’ most iconic pizza institutions.
Because while ordering a perfect wood-fired pizza is a Sydney pastime, making one yourself (and casually telling everyone “I made this”) is a whole new level.
Fresh from opening its first Australian restaurant, Da Michele is bringing more than 155 years of Neapolitan pizza heritage to the CBD, with its expert pizzaioli from Napoli leading guests through the secrets behind the world’s most famous pizza style.
Over the two-hour hands-on experience, budding pizza makers will learn the traditional techniques behind an authentic Neapolitan slice – from stretching and shaping the dough to mastering the perfect bake in a traditional Italian pizza oven.
Then comes the best part: eating your homework.
Guests will create two classic Neapolitan pizzas before sitting down to enjoy their handmade creations, complete with three complimentary drinks and tiramisu for dessert. Because no Italian feast is complete without a little something sweet at the end.
Founded in Naples in 1870, Da Michele has become a global icon, famous for its simple, traditional approach to pizza – proving that sometimes the best things in life really are just dough, tomato, mozzarella and a little bit of Italian magic.
Now Sydney pizza lovers can experience a taste of Naples without booking a flight, packing a suitcase or pretending they understand Italian train schedules.
Whether you’re looking for a last-minute date idea, a fun Sunday activity with friends, or simply a reason to eat more pizza (honestly, do we need one?), this is one weekend plan worth making.
