There are some Sydney events that just feel… easy.
No stress. No overplanning. No “is it worth it?”
And for me, Pyrmont Festival is one of them.
Maybe it’s because I used to live in Pyrmont — those walks along the water, spontaneous wine stops, long lunches that turned into sunset drinks. It’s one of those pockets of Sydney that just gets it.
So when I say this festival is worth showing up for… I mean it.
A Harbourside Weekend That Does All The Work For You
On 23–24 May, Pirrama Park turns into a full-blown food and wine playground.
Think:
- 25+ wineries, breweries and distilleries
- Local produce from across NSW
- Proper food (not just “event food”)
- And one of the best harbour backdrops in Sydney
It’s basically a statewide food and wine tour without leaving the city
Hunter Valley, Orange, Mudgee, South Coast… all in one place.
The Kind of Food Line-Up You Actually Want
This isn’t a “grab something and move on” situation.
You’re settling in.
We’re talking:
- Fresh seafood
- Pasta done properly
- Wagyu
- Dumplings
- And yes… The Famous Berry Donut Van
It’s the kind of line-up where everyone finds their thing — and then goes back for more.
It’s Not Just About Eating & Drinking
What I love about Pyrmont Festival is that it doesn’t feel one-dimensional.

There’s:
- Live music across two stages
- A proper kids zone (face painting, games, mini golf)
- Dog-friendly vibes (always a win)
- Art exhibitions and workshops
- Even fitness pop-ups if you’re feeling motivated
It’s layered — in a way that feels considered, not chaotic
Why This One Still Works
After 14 years, it would be easy for something like this to lose its edge.
But it hasn’t.
Because it sticks to what works:
- good food
- good wine
- good company
- and a location that does half the job for you
