Thirty years, countless cups of tea and enough colourful teaware to make any kitchen more fun, T2 is celebrating its big 3 0 in true T2 style, with a brand new Sydney store and a collection that lets you travel the world without leaving your favourite armchair.
The Melbourne born tea brand has opened a new store at Westfield Sydney on Pitt Street, bringing its colourful tea universe to the heart of the CBD. The new space features T2’s Brew Bar, where shoppers can grab a freshly made cuppa while browsing the extensive range of teas and teaware.
But the birthday celebrations don’t stop there. T2 is also taking tea lovers on a global adventure with its new Tea to Take You Places collection.
The limited edition range features eight teas inspired by destinations around the world, with each tea paired with a matching fine bone china mug and infuser featuring artwork by an artist from that region. So, essentially, your morning cuppa can now double as a holiday, minus the airport queues.
First up is Australian Breakfast, a warming, roasty and nutty black tea paired with colourful artwork by Melbourne artist Esther Olsson, inspired by Australia’s wildlife, flora and landscapes.
Then there’s Melbourne Breakfast, a smooth and comforting blend with sweet vanilla and malty notes. The matching mug and infuser features artwork by Melbourne based artist Timba Smits, whose playful retro style captures the spirit of the city.
Sydney Breakfast brings a bolder brew, combining black tea with bergamot and smoky notes. Sydney paper artist Benja Harney has created intricate artwork inspired by the Harbour City’s architecture, coastline and energy.
For something a little more tropical, Singapore Breakfast combines toasted coconut, molasses and earthy notes. Singaporean artist Tan Zi Xi, aka MessyMsxi, has created vibrant artwork inspired by the country’s food, culture and everyday rituals.
Across the pond, New York Breakfast offers a rich, malty black tea with a hint of maple sweetness. New York illustrator Lauren Martin has brought the city to life on the matching mug and infuser with a playful design packed with quintessential New York details.
Meanwhile, English Breakfast is a classic bright, malty and citrusy brew, with London inspired artwork by British illustrator Jay Cover. Think red buses, colourful characters and plenty of quintessential British charm.
For something more floral, French Earl Grey combines bergamot with tropical and fruity notes and pretty petals. French illustrator and graphic designer Guillaume Denaud, aka Dans Les Dents, has created a playful design filled with French favourites, from croissants and black cats to Parisian details.
Finally, New Zealand Breakfast rounds out the collection, celebrating our neighbours across the Tasman with artwork by New Zealand artist Rebecca Ter Borg.
The clever part of Tea to Take You Places is that it combines flavour, culture and art, giving each destination its own personality. And with a matching artist designed mug and infuser for every tea, you can bring a little piece of each destination home.
It’s a fitting way for T2 to celebrate 30 years. After all, the brand has always been about making tea more colourful, creative and fun, proving that sometimes the best way to travel is simply to put the kettle on.
So grab your favourite mug, choose your destination and let T2 do the travelling for you. Passport optional, kettle essential.
