Sydneysiders know the vibe all too well. It’s the middle of winter, your Euro summer trip is a distant memory (or a fantasy you’ve never lived out), and the only thing getting you through the cold mornings is the promise of a good coffee run. Well, Bondi’s about to make that coffee run significantly more indulgent.
Cult-favourite cafe Blackwood Bondi is getting a full Parisian makeover this weekend, transforming into Cafe Creamy – a dreamy, whipped-cream-topped pop-up thanks to Aussie body care brand Glow Lab, fronted by none other than Bec Judd. Think chic French cafe styling, serious photo-op energy, and hot chocolates so decadent they basically count as dessert.
And the best part is that it’s completely free.
So What’s Actually Going On?
Glow Lab is launching its new Creamy Body Wash range (more on that below, because it sounds genuinely lush), and instead of just popping up a billboard, they’ve decided the best way to introduce Sydney to “gourmand beauty” is through our stomachs. Fair call.
For one weekend, Blackwood Bondi is being reimagined as a Parisian café straight out of your Pinterest board, serving up free whipped hot chocolates, each one inspired by a different scent from the new body wash range. You’ll walk away with a hot choc in hand and a body wash sample in your tote bag. A win-win, frankly.
The Three Flavours
The hot chocolate menu is inspired by Glow Lab’s new Triple Moisturising Creamy Body Wash range, which comes in three gourmand scents:
- Coconut & Vanilla Bean – tropical, comforting, basically bottled holiday mode
- Salted Caramel & Pistachio – rich, nutty, a little bit indulgent
- Cashmere & White Blossom – soft florals meet cosy cashmere
Gourmand fragrances (the “does this smell edible?” trend) have absolutely taken over beauty this year – apparently searches for edible-inspired scents are up nearly 10x year-on-year – and Glow Lab’s betting the same craving for dessert-adjacent everything applies just as much to your shower routine as it does your perfume shelf.
The range itself is formulated with glycerin, coconut oil and shea butter, and – as always with Glow Lab – it’s cruelty-free, vegan-friendly, and skips the parabens, sulfates and mineral oil.
Why We’re Into It
Honestly, a free hot chocolate pop-up in the middle of winter – no ticket, no queue drama (hopefully), just vibes, good lighting, and an excuse to get out of the house – doesn’t need much elaboration. But, the fact that Bec herself is apparently already sold on the range, saying it’s been a shower staple through the Melbourne winter chill, really gets us across the line.
So, grab your friend, your camera roll needs and your best pair of Lorna Jane leggings. Cafe Creamy is only around for one weekend before it goes back to being just Blackwood.
