Madame Shanghai Sichuan Vegan Banquet Dinner

The fire-and-tang of Shanghai ingredients infused with a heady scent of French nostalgia for “le vieux pays” (the old country) can be found at Madame Shanghai in Sydney’s CBD, where you are invited to experience this exotic blend of cuisines in her elegant and intoxicating atmosphere.
When you think of Sichuan food, you may simply think of hot chillis and numbing peppers, but in fact, there are over twenty flavour combinations that are completely unique to Sichuan cuisine. Madame Shanghai is offering a unique opportunity to explore these flavours in a Sichuan inspired 10 course vegan banquet on Thursday 22 November.
Madame Shanghai’s Sichuan vegan dinner menu, created by Head Chef Casper Xu, will explore flavours such as the salty savouriness of fermented sauces and the mouthwatering ‘strange-flavour’ combination of salty, sweet, numbing, hot and sourness.Menu highlights include spinach and sweet corn dumplings, steamed pumpkin dumplings, five spice smoked eggplant, hot and sour soup and ma po tofu with soy bean and pickled mustard vegetable.

The Alibi kitchen food design is by Matthew Kenney, world renowned plantbased chef. Matthew’s food philosophy is simple clean eating need never compromise on taste, and he’s a man true to his word. Small plates and bigger bites to satisfy any and every hunger.
Alibi has also just launched a high tea that encompasses Matthew Kenney’s clean food philosophy and a combines classical and innovative cooking techniques to give locally sourced plant-based ingredients a creative makeover. The high tea menu features both sweet and savoury options.

Gigi Pizzeria
WHERE: 379 King St, Newtown
Gigi is one of a very few pizzerias in Sydney that is a proud member of the AVPN (the ‘Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana’ or ‘True Neapolitan Pizza Association’) and adheres to its incredibly specific regulations, including hand-stretched dough, traditionally topped, and wood-fired pizza, Napoli style.
Owner Marco has created a Plant-Based menu to align with Gigi’s ethics, whilst staying true to the traditional Neapolitan Pizza by using fresh, quality local produce, combined with key ingredients imported from Italy, as specified by the AVPN, to create a perfect authentic Neapolitan pizza.

Head to stylish, casual pub The Green Lion in Rozelle and discover a creative Vegan only menu – Plant based pub food. Taking the traditional pub classic like the hamburger (now aptly named the ” The Green Mac”) and creating them from purely vegan based ingredients. Some of the other notable menu items include the “fake fish” and “Vegans shepherds pie”.
