Each Friday and Saturday night during WorldPride (Friday 17 February – Saturday 4 March), the stage in The Star’s Grand Foyer will be given a rainbow makeover when some of the biggest names in drag from across Australia and New Zealand take the floor for a night of unbridled fun and self-expression.

From social media sensation Carla From Bankstown and Drag Race Down Under’s crowned jewel Kita Mean to local starlets Coco Jumbo and Beverly Kills, visitors to The Star Sydney will bear witness to mesmerizing, high-energy camp performances showcasing the queens’ artistry and boundless creativity, paired with colourful animations and aqua art. Rainbow Central acts will be performed at 7:00pm and 8:00pm are free for all visitors to view.

Following their grand performances, select queens including the ever popular Anita Wigl’it will be sashaying their way up to Cherry Bar to keep the party going with Kita Mean even taking over the turntables in her first ever DJ gig on Sydney’s shores on Friday 3 March. Guests can sip on the venue’s range of carefully-curated colourful cocktails courtesy of Belvedere, including an iconic rainbow-layered vodka spritz, while dancing the night away to the best disco beats every Friday and Saturday from 8:00pm til late

Finally, extending its popular performance dates, Aqualume – The Star’s famed acrobatic aerial dance performance – will also be lighting up the Grand Foyer every Thursday to Sunday at 8:30pm, 10:15pm and 11:15pm with a stunning WorldPride-themed performance.

WorldPride At Nour

On Sunday 19th February, The ‘Pride Icons’ brunch will see the return of NOUR’s brunch-style menu for one day only, hosted by LGBTQIA+ talent, Australia’s Naomi Campbell aka HollyWould and Fairah Nuff, (Sydney drag queens well-known on the circuit) to kick off this year’s WorldPride celebrations.

Guests can expect beats, booze, and a mouth-watering Middle Eastern banquet, with endless entertainment including drag performances, an interactive Pride Icons quiz and music by DJ Brett Riesling throughout the day.

Diners are asked to dress as their favourite LGBTQIA+ icons and will be treated to performances by Hollywould as the legendary Naomi Campbell, and Fairah Nuff as the much-loved Kylie Minogue. The fruity fun doesn’t stop there, bring your thinking caps because guests will be invited to play a Pride Icons quiz, with plenty of fun prizes up for grabs.

Nour is bringing back their brunch-style menu for one day only, featuring delicious dishes like ocean trout with sumac and charred citrus, as well as chargrilled spatchcock with filfil chouma and buttermilk, served with a welcome margarita for $139 PP. If you’re still feeling thirsty, guests can consider opting for the bottomless offering alongside brunch which consists of beer, (Kylie Minogue’s) rose wine, classic margies and proud Palomas for $199 PP.

WorldPride Dragtails

Last month, Applejack held Dragtails, a competition where they challenged their talented in-house team of mixologists, from each of their venues, to create a unique and delicious cocktail that showcased their inner Drag Queen, starring Absolut Vodka.

SIX signature cocktails were selected to fly the flag for Applejack during Sydney WorldPride with $1 of every cocktail sold going to The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation, Australia’s longest-running HIV charity!
