Zetland’s New All-Day Cafe, Bar and Gallery Is a Green Square Triple Threat

Sydney will never get sick of a good cafe. We’ve built entire personalities around our local, judged suburbs by their coffee, and turned “have you been to [insert new opening]” into a full-time hobby. Green Square’s latest addition raises the stakes: One Muse has landed in Zetland as a cafe, bar and gallery in one address, walls hung floor to ceiling with original art. illy coffee and pastries in the morning. Antipasto and cheese boards through the afternoon. Cocktails and wine once the sun drops. Art the whole time through.

Espresso to Aperitivo, No Reservations Required

The menu is built around elevated panini, antipasto boards and cheese platters, backed up by pastries and desserts that’ll happily do double duty as breakfast or dessert. On the drinks side: proper illy coffee, Italian beer, wine, and a cocktail list stacked with names as good as the drinks themselves – the Amalfi Muse, Muse Rosso, Milano Sunset and Dolce Vita.

Open daily from 7am to 8pm, One Muse is built to be dropped into at any point in the day – solo with a coffee and a laptop, or with the whole crew for cocktails and a cheese board.

The Real Muse Is Hannah

What sets One Muse apart from every other new cafe-bar on the block: the concept is built around Hannah Sunito, an award-winning Sydney artist whose work lines the walls of the venue – and who now runs the place as CEO, shaping its creative direction herself.

Hannah is an autistic artist who found her calling in fine art early, training in drawing and painting and building a practice across portraiture, landscapes, and studies of flora and fauna, alongside more playful manga-inspired character work drawing on real animals and cosplay references. Her style has evolved into bold, richly coloured, graphic pieces across oils, acrylics, watercolour and mixed media, and more recently, a new body of abstract work.

Her talent hasn’t gone unnoticed. Hannah has exhibited solo and alongside other artists, contributed work to charity fundraisers, and picked up recognition on the Sydney art circuit, including taking out an oil/acrylic prize at a major Sydney art society exhibition. She’s also painted live in front of a crowd of Sydney University supporters, watching her own work sell at auction on the spot – proof that her art holds its own in any room, gallery or otherwise.

Now that body of work lines the walls at One Muse, turning a coffee run or a cocktail hour into a chance to sit with original Australian art, made by the person actually running the show.

Why It’s Worth the Trip to Zetland

Green Square has been on a serious upward run as one of Sydney’s most exciting inner-city pockets, and One Muse slots in as the kind of anchor venue it’s been missing: coffee spot, lunch stop, wine bar and gallery, all under one address.

Swing by for the coffee. Stay for the cheese board. Linger for the art.
