Nestled in the charming Cammeray Square, Nico Restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience that beautifully blends innovation with tradition. On our recent visit, we were treated to a sumptuous feast that left us eager to return.

Our culinary journey began with the Homemade Focaccia paired with smoked butter. The focaccia was a warm, airy, and boasting a perfectly crisp crust. The smoked butter added a luxurious touch, its creamy texture infused with a subtle smokiness that complemented the bread wonderfully.

Next, we savored the Zucchino Flower, a visually stunning dish filled with plant-based ricotta and drizzled with sweet chilli sauce. The zucchini flower was light and crispy, while the ricotta inside was silky smooth. The sweet chilli sauce provided a gentle kick of heat, balancing the flavors perfectly. This appetizer was a delightful combination of textures and tastes, catering effortlessly to both vegans and non-vegans alike.

The Handmade Burrata was a highlight of our meal. Served with vibrant beetroot, juicy persimmon, and a drizzle of herbs oil, this dish was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The burrata was incredibly fresh and creamy, pairing perfectly with the earthy beetroot and the sweet, tangy persimmon. The herbs oil added a fragrant, aromatic note that tied all the elements together beautifully.

For the pasta course, we indulged in the Spaghetti with Spanner Crab and Crustacean Sauce. The spaghetti was cooked to al dente perfection, and the spanner crab was tender and succulent. The crustacean sauce was rich and deeply flavorful, reflecting hours of careful preparation and the finest ingredients. This dish was a true celebration of the sea, with each mouthful bursting with fresh, briny flavors.

The main course featured a Snapper Fillet, crusted with baby potatoes and served with salmoriglio, a tangy Italian sauce made with lemon, garlic, and herbs. The snapper was cooked to perfection – flaky and moist on the inside, with a crispy, golden crust of baby potatoes. The salmoriglio added a zesty, herby kick that complemented the fish beautifully. This dish showcased the chef’s skill in balancing flavors and textures, and it left us thoroughly impressed.

Our dining experience at Nico Restaurant, Cammeray Square, was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish reflected the kitchen’s dedication to quality ingredients, meticulous preparation, and creative presentation. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy décor that made us feel right at home.

The service was impeccable – attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. It was clear that the team at Nico takes great pride in their work, and this translated into an unforgettable dining experience for us.
