Looking for the perfect family getaway in the heart of Australia’s capital? Look no further than Crowne Plaza Canberra! Our recent weekend stay at this iconic hotel was nothing short of spectacular, filled with delicious dining experiences, comfortable accommodations, and fascinating adventures for the whole family.

Accommodations Fit for Royalty

From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we knew we were in for a treat. The warm welcome from the staff set the tone for our stay, and we were thrilled to discover our spacious and well-appointed room. With plush beds, modern amenities, and stunning views of Glebe Park, we felt right at home from the start. Plus, the kids couldn’t get enough of the complimentary Wi-Fi – a lifesaver for keeping them entertained between outings.

Breakfast Bliss at the Buffet

Our mornings at Crowne Plaza Canberra began with a feast fit for kings and queens at the hotel’s buffet breakfast. With an array of fresh fruits, pastries, cereals, and hot dishes to choose from, there was something to satisfy every palate. The highlight? The made-to-order omelets – a hit with both kids and adults alike and the bottomless barista made coffee! And with attentive staff on hand to ensure we were well looked after, we left the breakfast table feeling energized and ready to take on the day.

Dining Delights at redsalt Restaurant

One of the culinary highlights of our stay was dinner at Redsalt restaurant, conveniently located within Crowne Plaza Canberra. After a busy day sight seeing we didn’t want to leave the hotel so dinner at Redsalt was perfect! From the moment we entered, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and sophistication, with sleek décor and impeccable service. The menu boasted an enticing selection of modern Australian cuisine, and we savored every bite.

For starters, we indulged in the grilled peach salad with arugula, ricotta and candied walnut and the mouthwatering bruschetta, followed by the main event:  Lamb Shoulder with harissa, fattoush salad and rosemary jus and the tiger prawn linguine with baby tomatoes, bottarga and dill. The kids enjoyed the battered fish and chips from the kids menu which was served with a glass of juice and a scoop of ice cream to finish! With its cozy ambiance and delectable dishes, Redsalt restaurant quickly became a family favorite.

Exploring Ancient Egypt at the National Museum of Australia

No trip to Canberra would be complete without a visit to the National Museum of Australia, and we were thrilled to discover the temporary exhibition, “Discovering Ancient Egypt.” From mummies to artifacts, the exhibition offered a fascinating glimpse into one of history’s most captivating civilizations.

As we wandered through the galleries, we were captivated by the intricacy of the ancient artifacts on display and the stories they told. The kids were especially enamored with the interactive displays, which brought the wonders of Ancient Egypt to life in a fun and engaging way. And with informative guides on hand to answer our questions, we left the museum feeling inspired and enlightened.
