What does the beauty industry have in store for 2018?

Permanent Ombre Eyeliner

Eyebrows are still in but the newest trend in permanent makeup is ombre eyeliner. The Queen of this trending treatment, Sharon Lee, says, “Procedures are becoming far less ‘in your face’ and leaning more toward merely making an individual look like themselves – but better. Our work is not designed to look ‘done’.

Ombre Eyeliner lasts longer but this is done in amongst the lash line and everyone wants that to last and last and last.

These procedures don’t come cheap but when you extrapolate the up front cost out to what you spend on pencils, liquids, mascaras, extensions etc and add the sheer painstaking time you take actually applying these to your face – it’s an investment you won’t regret.”

Glass Skin Inspired by K-Beauty

We all know how to slip, slop, slap and the dangers of the Aussie sunshine but are we ready to take it to the next level and try the newest skincare trend to arrive Down Under?

Founder of Australian Korean Beauty store STYLE STORY Lauren Lee recommends a routine that includes double cleansing > toning > essence > sheet mask > serum > moisturiser to guarantee the “K-Beauty” glass skin glow.

The ‘glass skin’ trend is all about layering lightweight moisturisers and achieving a translucent glow.

Non-surgical treatments

Until recently, surgery was the most effective way to improve the appearance of tired eyes or hooded eyes. But who has the patience for downtime? We’ve seen lunchtime nose jobs or non-surgical liposuction so why not puffy eyes?

There is a new system known as PlaCo Plasma, a non-surgical eye lift treatment that requires no general anesthetic, no cutting or stitching and very little down time.

Beauty expert, Rita Porreca, explains the treatment, “ the small plasmatic flash issued from the machine hand piece, in addition to its evaporation effect, simultaneously exerts a corrective, tissue-tightening, which ensures rapid and scar-less healing. The elasticity of the skin is improved and tightening is made possible.”

Hairstyles that make a statement

TONI & GUY  released their trend forecast for this year, with shaggy mullets, long flowing waves, blunt fringes and cropped pixie cuts taking the spotlight saying;

Over the last few years we’ve seen an ‘anti’ movement, anti-fashion, anti-retouch, anti-classic beauty etc. across the hair, beauty and fashion industries. Now, although individuality is still held in the highest regard, many designers have begun to fuse that anti concept with high fashion to turn out something entirely new.
