Salvos has launched its first ever Salvos Street Boutique within their Darlinghurst Salvos Store which will remain a permanent fixture. The Street Boutique encourages fashion savvy, budget conscious consumers to shop at their local Salvos Stores and discover affordable fashion, while helping the community and the environment.
Eco stylist and TV fashion commentator Faye De Lanty has partnered with Salvos Stores to curate the Street Boutique, combining ever popular vintage and pre loved styles with current modern on trend pieces. Not only does shopping at the boutique save the consumer money and provide them with a one of a kind look, it’s much kinder to our planet. Faye has just returned from launching a “thrift boutique” for The Salvation Army in NYC which was a huge success, and has replicated this concept for Sydneysiders at the Salvos Street Boutique.
Faye is working tirelessly to ensure all the garments stocked fit a certain standard and fashion aesthetic, and the boutique will be filled with on trend and timeless pieces. The interior is built utilising second hand fixtures and includes a feature wall created from upcycled wooden pallets. Faye is also be on hand to offer regular style advice, workshops and eco fashion inspiration.
Jeff McCartney, Salvos Stores Eastern Sydney Area Manager says, “Everybody has a love for fashion, and with Salvos Street Boutique we have created an explosion of styles whilst thinking of the environment. This is also where the “Old” meets “New” with a stylish independent feel”.
Salvos Stores have been helping struggling families and individuals for over 125 years, and have raised millions of dollars to support The Salvation Army. Pre-loved and recycled furniture, clothing and goods are donated to the stores and then sold at reasonable and fair prices. All profits from these sales go towards running vital Salvation Army programs which assist the less fortunate. Goods are also distributed free of charge to those in need through The Salvation Army’s network
