Sydney diners will once again be treated to a food and entertainment spectacular this November at Walsh Bay Arts and Commerce’s 6th annual charity dinner, the Walsh Bay Arts Table. This year their benefit is shared with Gondwana Choirs, with all funds raised going to help their arts and cultural activities.

 

Alongside breathtaking Darling Harbour views, the lucky 400 who will be seated at the one long banquet table and served an incredible five-course al fresco degustation dinner from some of the most renowned restaurants from Sydney and as far flung as Berrima, NSW. Top chefs from View by Sydney, The Loch, Pier One Sydney Harbour, Simmer on the Bay, and Sydney Dance Lounge will serve their signature dish on the night with perfectly matching wines from the distinguished Hunter Valley winery Tempus Two.

 

While the full menu is yet a secret savoured for the evening’s diners, we are able to let you know two of the delectable dishes to whet your appetite. These two courses are in tune with the seaside views and Spring evening. View by Sydney will offer up prawn, smoked salmon and seared tuna with wasabi crème, sobe noodle wakame and toasted nori, a superb harbour-side fare. On a bed of polenta with minted yoghurt and tomato salsa, Simmer on the Bay will serve olive and lamb on twig skewers with preserved lemon, as an enticing salute to the Spring-time dinner.

 

Interlacing with this exquisite feast will be the dulcet tones of the Gondwana Choirs, showcasing performances by Sydney Children’s Choir and Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir. At the forefront of Australian choral performances, Gondwana Choir is renowned for their pioneering creations which have influenced the direction of Australian sound. Their leading artists have been able to create many opportunities for talented young Australians. With donations from the Walsh Bay Arts Table charity evening, Gondwana Choirs will continue developing their outstanding performances and boosting their world-class training for talented young Australians.

 

As a special treat, Walsh Bay Arts Table diners will witness the magnificent staging of a choral performance on the Australian-built replica HMB Endeavour, from Captain Cook’s epic voyage of 1786-71. Diners will be invited to discover the beautifully crafted vessel which is one of the world’s most accurate maritime replicas. Five years after its construction began in 1988 it was launched and has since sailed over 170,000 nautical miles – twice around the world.
