If you’re searching for a dining experience that takes your taste buds on a delightful journey through modern Asian cuisine, look no further than LILYMU. Tucked away in Parramatta Square, this chic restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere, a creative menu, and a dining experience that’s anything but ordinary. Recently, I had the pleasure of indulging in their Classic Feast Banquet, and it was nothing short of a flavor-packed adventure.

The feast kicked off with the Kingfish and Coconut Ceviche—a dish that immediately set the tone for what was to come. The ceviche was a beautiful balance of fresh, citrusy flavors, with the coconut adding a creamy undertone. Paired with the crispness of taro chips and the vibrant touch of marigold, it was as visually stunning as it was delicious.

Next up were the Chicken Gyoza with Plum Vinegar. These little pockets of joy were perfectly pan-fried to a golden crisp, with a juicy, flavorful filling inside. The plum vinegar added a tangy zing that cut through the richness, making each bite incredibly satisfying. This was comfort food elevated to new heights.

Moving on to the vegetarian options, the Roasted Eggplant with Apple Ponzu and Furikake was a revelation. The eggplant was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with the apple ponzu providing a sweet and tangy contrast that kept the flavors interesting. The sprinkling of furikake added a hint of umami, making this dish a standout, even for those who might not typically gravitate towards eggplant.

But the real showstopper was the Banana Leaf Roasted Barramundi. The fish was cooked to perfection—moist, flaky, and infused with the aromatic flavors of turmeric curry and fresh herbs. The presentation in the banana leaf was both traditional and elegant, and the curry was a wonderful mix of warm spices that didn’t overpower the delicate fish. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that left us craving more.

To accompany the fish, we had the Bonito Soy Fried Rice with Mustard Leaf Pickles. This wasn’t your average fried rice; the bonito soy gave it a deep, savory flavor, while the mustard leaf pickles added a refreshing crunch that balanced the dish beautifully. It was the perfect side to round out the meal.

For dessert, we enjoyed the Mochi Sorbet—a refreshing and light finish to the feast. The mochi was soft and chewy, while the sorbet provided a cool, fruity contrast that cleansed the palate after the rich and flavorful dishes that preceded it.

As for drinks, the Sake Spritz and Yuzu Americano were both excellent choices. The Sake Spritz was light and bubbly with just the right amount of sweetness, while the Yuzu Americano offered a more complex, bittersweet flavor with a citrusy twist that was both refreshing and invigorating.

LILYMU’s Classic Feast Banquet is a celebration of bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and culinary creativity. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, making the entire experience feel special from start to finish. Whether you’re a fan of modern Asian cuisine or just looking to try something new, LILYMU’s banquet is a must-try.

The attentive service, lively ambiance, and expertly crafted dishes make LILYMU not just a meal, but a memorable dining experience that you’ll want to revisit time and time again. If you’re in Parramatta and in the mood for a culinary adventure, LILYMU is the place to be!
