Sydney Social 101 got the pleasure of attending the breathtaking Disney’s Cinderella premiere on Sunday 15th March at State Theatre in Sydney.
When Disney first released its trailer of Cinderella I was so excited to see it, so I jumped at the chance to attend the Australian premiere of Cinderella in Sydney.
Before attending the premiere we were invited to Harper’s BAZAAR presents an evening of fashion and timeless fairy tales in celebration of Disney Cinderella which was held at QT in Sydney before the premiere of Cinderella. Kellie Hush (Editor-In-Chief, Harper’s BAZAAR), Megan Hess (Fashion Illustrator), Genevieve and Alexandra Smart (Fashion Designers, Ginger & Smart), and Richard Wilkins were some of the people who attended this fabulous event.
Megan Hess gave us an insight to her favourite dresses from the film and how she wanted to capture the personalities in the costumes. If you want to find out more from Megan Hess make sure you purchase this month Harper’s BAZAAR magazine.
This magical Australian premiere of Disney’s “Cinderella” set came to life at Sydney’s spectacular State Theatre. The story of Cinderella follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father marries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughter Anastasia (Holiday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. This remake of the timeless classic from Disney’s 1950’s animated masterpiece won over the hearts and minds of a whole new generation.
This premiere was an event not to be missed with its glittering blue carpet and with its number of Cinderella inspired moments throughout evening. There was an essence of style on the blue carpet including Jules Sebastian who looked incredible in the specially designed Cinderella Kindness Dress, which contained a number of kind quotes gathered from Twitter fans by Disney and made by One Day Bridal. We even got the pleasure of seeing Cate Blanchett, who plays the evil stepmother, on the blue carpet and she was looking elegant as always. Here’s just a few of the special guests who attended the premiere, Rebecca Gibney, Megan Hess, Aisha Jade, Philippa Northeast, Peter Everett, Scott Tweedie and Richard Reid.
Don’t wait till midnight to see Cinderella, go see the #1 movie everyone is talking about!
