A WORTHY CAUSE, WITH PLENTY OF DRIVE BEHIND IT

You take $1,000, The Australian outback, 500 eager drivers and a whole lot of gaffer tape –and what do you get? Some of the most courageous and inspiring Australian’s throwing caution to the wind, buckling up in their thousand dollar ‘Shitboxes’ and taking the trip of a life time across our country’s wild, barren West all in aid of raising money for Cancer Research.

Founded and started by James Freeman, who tragically lost both parents to this crippling disease within 12 months apart, started the rally as a unique and challenging way to raise money and awareness in 2009. Since the beginning of Shitbox Rally, James and the participants have raised over $6.1 million in aid of cancer research – but they aren’t stopping there.

2014 marked the 5th annual ‘Shitbox Rally’, where drivers given the limit of $1000 to buy (or in some cases, build!) their cars, take on the treacherous roads from Perth to Darwin, all with the aim to raise $1 Million for the worthy cause of the Australian Cancer Council. Heading into this drive with only gaffer tape and a sense of adventure, participants set off on a 7 day journey filled with laughter, frustration, tears and a raw insight into why they have chosen to partake in the annual Shitbox Rally.

Tomorrow night, the 25th of November is your chance to come on the journey, experience the ups and downs, join in on the laughter and share the tears with these 500 selfless participants at this year’s showing of the feature-length documentary, The Rally. With a generous portion of proceeds being donated to the Cancer Council, this is your opportunity to do your part and be involved in Australia’s largest private Cancer Council fundraiser.
