The Championships Day 2 – featuring the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes
Join the beautiful people trackside in the sunshine this Saturday as The Autumn Carnival continues at Royal Randwick and we celebrate the Grand Finals of Australian Racing at The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day.
It’s a seriously big money day so cheer home the best horses from around the world as they compete for the world’s richest 2000m turf race, the Group 1 $4 million Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the Group 1 $1 million James Boag’s Premium Australian Oaks and the Group 1 $2 million Schweppes Sydney Cup over 3200m. We’re not big gamblers here at Sydney Social 101 but if you fancy a responsible flutter then we’ve been told Artistry is a good Each Way bet in Race 8. No need to thank us…
If you’re not the greatest horse racing expert, never fear, there’s plenty to keep you entertained away from the race track. If you’d be in the running in the style stakes then check out the Myer Fashions on the Field, where racegoers are encouraged to compete for a prize pool valued at over $50,000! The competition will also feature the coveted Longines Prize for Elegance where one fashionista will receive the Longines DolceVita Timepiece (estimated value $2,850). Judged by ATC ambassadors Isabelle Cornish and Grace Huang, alongside Myer ambassadors Jodi Anasta and Kris Smith, the event is one not to be missed. We suggest sourcing your fascinator with care.
If filling your tummy is more your concern then how about Little Sydney which will again be enticing food lovers and Sydney’s gastronomical social set to Royal Randwick. Returning pop-ups include Sydney’s iconic restaurants Icebergs, Chiswick and China Doll making Little Sydney the hottest ticket to the track this Sydney Autumn Carnival. Tickets are available through here at $450 per person.
If that’s a little steep then you can try the Little Bondi pop up on the Leger Lawn, bringing a taste of Bondi Beach to the track with favourites from Icebergs, The Bucket List and Da Orazio Pizza + Porchetta. The Clinique Pamper Lounge will also be on hand for complimentary makeup touch ups, while members can enjoy pop up bars by Veuve Cliquot, Moët & Chandon and Schweppes or dine on fresh oysters at the ‘Get Shucked’ Oyster Bar.
For those who want to continue the celebrations, The Star, the official post-race day party venue, will provide transport to the venue.
The forecast is warm and sunny so do dig out your best frock and get your tickets now!
