CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SPECTACULAR SHINES BRIGHT ON 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Sydney Social 1o1 was lucky enough to be invited to embrace the seasonal festivities early this year at the Christmas Lights Spectacular at Hunter Valley Gardens.
If you’re like me (and a lover of all things Christmas), you need to get involved in the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest and most breathtaking display of over 2 million lights. Open from now until Saturday, January 27th 2018, it truly is a sight to behold.
I went with my mum and step-dad, who were over from Spain and my partner and 17 month old son, it’s safe to say we were dazzled by kilometres of illuminated pathways and sparkling lights in every direction across the 13 hectare garden.
There is a total of 16 individual displays, including ‘Around the World’ themed area (which was my fave), which includes some of the most iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Sydney Harbour Scene (complete with kangaroo reindeers to Santa’s sleigh), Dutch Windmills and a giant 4m diameter globe.
The pinnacle of the event, which is brand new this year, are the rides, which include a Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Swing Chair.
Not only are you able to take in all the festive lights, guests are also invited to visit the enchanting Animatronic Santa’s Factory, write a letter to Santa, visit with the Elves and have a photo taken with Santa himself. There will also be stunning fireworks displays held on New Year’s Eve at 9.00pm.
The entire family will be able to enjoy the festive season with a delicious selection of food and beverage stalls, roaming entertainment including carollers (until Boxing Day), and nightly performances by much loved children’s music group Little Scallywagz.
Please note: Gates will open at a new time of 5.30pm and will close at 10.00pm.
