Cliche, maybe, but also a pretty cool way to chillax and watch one of the best romantic flicks of all time! Why not think outside of the box this Valentine’s Day and spend the night under the stars at Moonlight Cinema’s screening of the classic romantic comedy Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Hang with your mates, get a group of you together and enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly – a must for any classy event (If not to celebrate your single status, to drown your sorrows?! Either or, a good shout!).
Join the eccentric and extroverted party girl Holly Golightly, who lives off the generosity of various New York City gentlemen for an evening of glitz and glamour. Refusing to commit to a relationship of any kind, complications arise for Ms Golightly in the form of the straight-laced aspiring writer George Peppard and Buddy Ebsen as an unexpected figure from her past. The film boasts Audrey Hepburn in her career-defining role and an Oscar-winning score by Henry Mancini that includes the indelible ballad, “Moon River”.

IT’S A LOVE/HATE THING AT GOLDEN AGE
The big V-Day is just around the corner and Golden Age’s cupid’s take on the annual gooey holiday is officially “complicated”. For those who have a love/hate relationship with Valentine’s Day, there’s no better way to spend it than in front of the GoldenScreen.
First up in the Valentine’s Day Love/Hate date night double is the Shakespeare-inspired teen dream 10 Things I Hate About You, in which Julia Stiles counts the ways she loathes Heath Ledger. Classic ’80s thriller, Fatal Attraction follows, with Michael Douglas learning the dangers of Glenn Close scorned.
Throughout the night, there’ll be songs of love and hate in the bar, so bring your sweetheart, broken heart or best single friends and have a lovers’ tiff over who gets the last bite of the choc-top.

Oggle hot surfers…
More than 175,000 people are expected to visit Manly Beach to attend the 2015 Hurley Australian Open of Surfing from 7 – 15 February. The nine day, free and one-of-a-kind festival fuses together some of the world’s top athletes in surfing and skateboarding alongside a stellar music line up at Manly Beach.
Owned and operated by IMG, with the support of Hurley and Destination NSW, the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, the 2015 Hurley Australian Open of Surfing is shaping up to be a highlight on the summer calendar.
The mammoth nine-day event will also include ARIA nominee Vance Joy who will be headlining the Channel [V] stage on Saturday 14th February for a free all-ages concert right on the sand.
2014 has been huge for Vance Joy with the release of his debut album Dream Your Life Away taking out the #1 position on the ARIA Album Chart locally and the top 20 in Canada, the US and UK, numerous nominations, accolades and award wins including APRA Song Of The Year for ‘Riptide’ and sold out tours in Australia, North America, the UK and Europe.
This year has also seen him perform at South By South West, Glastonbury, Firefly, Boonaroo, Splendour In the Grass, Laneway, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Osheaga Festivals, not to mention being announced as support on Taylor Swift’s North American and Australian tours.
Rebecca Batties, Foxtel General Manager for Music and Head of Digital said, “Earlier this year thousands flocked to the Channel [V] stage at the 2014 Hurley Australian Open of Surfing to see Birds of Tokyo, Art vs Science, The Presets, The Delta Riggs, Illy and Animal Ventura. This year we are incredibly excited about the musical line-up we’ve secured which is led by Award-winning, man of the moment, Vance Joy.”
With his Australian tour in March 2015 selling fast, there are no signs of slowing down for the Melbourne musician. But before that, Vance Joy will ripple onto the shores of Manly Beach on 14th February, to play to an unexpectedly massive crowd.
So much for you guys to get involved with!
