Have you ever wondered what it was like filming The Lord of The Rings? Are you dying to know if Nicole Kidman is a diva to work with? Have you been lying awake at night wondering how buff Dev Patel actually is in real life? Are you utterly confused (and yet somewhat intrigued) as to what ties these questions together?

If your answer is yes to any or all of the above, you might be interested to know that Event Cinemas have teamed up with Screen NSW to bring you The Artist’s Room – a chance for everyday average joes to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s best and brightest movie stars.

First up is a Q&A with David Wenham. You’ll probably recognise this dude from things like The Lord of The Rings, 300, Iron Fist or Lion. (Hopefully, the first paragraph makes more sense to you now!) He’s basically been around for donkey’s years and has racked up a pretty impressive portfolio of work on both the small and big screens in and outside of Australia.

Fancy meeting Faramir face to face at your local cinema?

Hosted by Luke Buckmaster, the one hour interview and Q&A will be followed by a screening of Wenham’s multi award winning role as ‘Spit’ in Gettin’ Square. Now I haven’t personally seen this film (yet…), but according to my trusty Wikipedia research, Wenham’s performance in this movie won him the Best Actor category in every major Australian film award in 2003. Pretty impressive, hey?

So if you want to gain an insight into the life and career of a successful Australian movie star (whilst simultaneously raising money for Screen NSW and a GU Film House fund for a screenwriter’s development program), spread the word, grab your friends and get your tickets now!
