Everyone knows Monday nights are the quietest nights for pubs. So naturally, it was the best night of the week to hold an event and guarantee the attendance of bartenders and bar-goers. They came out in droves.

The event was ‘Time Out Sydney Pub Awards’, and the night was Monday, June 15th. The Glenmore Hotel rooftop in The Rocks was at capacity, as the 300 guests huddled to stay sheltered from the pelting rain. The Awards night, in its second year, recognises Sydney’s oldest and newest watering holes.

“The Awards are our opportunity to highlight the people raising the bar for counter meals and promoting inclusivity,” said Emily Lloyd-Tait, Time Out Sydney pubs editor. “The [pubs] bringing old boozers back to life with respect for their history and those keeping us entertained on long winter nights with live music, games, classes, events, trivia and even the odd art exhibition or mini opera.”

Nine awards were handed out on the night – eight of which were decided by a team of Time Out expert judges. The ‘People’s Choice Award’ was voted by the magazine’s readers. Without further ado, here are the winners of the 2015 Time Out Sydney Pub Awards…
