Georgy Girl is the brand new juke box musical from Richard East, one of the originating producers of Mamma Mia! and the producer of Dusty The Original Pop Diva. At its heart Georgy Girl is a powerful and entertaining story of the challenges and perks of fame, the heart ache of being on the other side of the world away from home and a group with the golden sound that the world fell in love with.

Inspired by the true story of Melbourne-based folk quartet and unlikely stars The Seekers and featuring all their hits, Georgy Girl, narrated with humour by Judith’s future husband and pianist Ron Edgeworth (played by Adam Murphy), follows the journey of four unknown Australian musicians and their extraordinary and unexpected rise to international pop stardom in the midst of the 1960’s music revolution.  Set in the swinging sixties in London, Georgy Girl features all The Seekers hits that the world fell in love with including The Carnival Is Over, I’ll Never Find Another You, A World Of Our Own, I am Australian (felt pretty patriotic when that one was sung)and of course Georgy Girl.

The musical’s biggest asset is without a doubt the brilliantly and faithfully created songs, music and musical performances. The shows stars including Pippa Grandison (Judith Durham), Glaston Toft (Athol Guy), Mike McLeish (Bruce Woodley) and Philip Lowe ( Keith Potger) looked, sang and played their instruments just like The Seekers, transporting the audience to one of The Seeker’s stage concerts back in their golden years.

Georgy Girl- The Seekers Musical will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you dance in your seat, it will make you feel nostalgic and pretty damn patriotic. And if all of that doesn’t entertain you, I hope the flamboyant dance moves will!
