We’re under no illusion here at Sydney Social 101 that whiskey isn’t everyone’s fave tipple, however I think I’d struggle to find someone who wasn’t a fan of Johnnie Walker®, the world’s number one blended Scotch Whisky. Even more so as it has recently opened the doors to its blending labs with a series of limited-edition experimental whiskies: Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch. The latest of these innovations to launch in Australia this summer is Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Espresso Roast and Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Rum Cask Finish.
These distinct whiskies are the result of hundreds of ongoing experiments into flavour by the small team of expert blenders, using the same craft and skill that underpins the creation of all of Johnnie Walker’s whiskies.
To mark the Australian launch, leading bartenders were invited to explore new ways to enjoy the serves this summer, playing on the complementary flavour profile of the ever-more popular cold brew coffee, and the established desire for coffee-based cocktails.
Déjà Brew
The Running Man
As well as ‘Déjà Brew’, ‘The Running Man’, there is the simplest mix easy to replicate at home – mixing Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Espresso Roast, cold brew, coconut sugar and ice.
Set to be the tastemakers’ drink of the summer, leading Australian bars will be serving their take on Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Espresso Roast with cold brew coffee throughout the month of December, so be sure not to miss out!
Bottles of limited-edition Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Rum Cask Finish and Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Espresso Roast will be available to purchase at Dan Murphy’s and BWS from January 2017 (RRP $55 for a 500ml bottle).
